lots of things i'm working on lately, as i am starting school and sorting out life as i start out on my own: paintings paintings paintings. a commissioned piece for my sister mary and her husband for their new sf home, and then the body of a 12 piece show in the greenwood neighborhood in august. there will be an opening party and i'll let you all know about it soon, as well as posting shots of the paintings as they're building up. i am really loving seeing the layers go on and build up, revealing a bit or the previous, gorgeous color showing underneath.

kid's art!

stare at this and automatically learn the alphabet, kids.
available now.
at least the lower case.

ohlala.

so much time has passed. well, i have thirteen paintings i am working on, one which is way overdue, one on order and i am still going full steam on my urban village project. there's a lot to do, and now just to balance that out with equal parts free time and energy.

what i have been doing is sleeping, however, since it is indeed the season for that. the weather for sleeping has never been better, unless you ask my children, and then you would get a number of varying responses, one being: "MAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAMA! can i sweep wif you wight now??".

i am tired. so tired.

enough about me. what about some art? here's what's new, and finished. stay tuned. the thirteen things in progress are only days away...
and now i need to blog about mary alyce and her business, which slowly but surely is making progress. some of the things that have slowed her down have been to her benefit luckily, and to the benefit of many seattle families: this cafe and playspace is going to rock hard--kids of seattle get ready. the sublime childrens indoor play experience awaits. see mr. happyglobe to your left. look how happy HE is.
he's my inspiration. and he truly IS that happy.

lots of new paintings coming so if you see something here that you'd like, or you like the style and would like to commission superfine to create a unique fineart piece for you, simply post a comment with your email address and we'll connect. thanks.

it's a shame there arent more hours in the day to paint all of the things that are fit to be painted. i guess that's why so many people chose photography. well, you've got to start somewhere, so i've been cramming what i can cram into my already chockfull days, hoping that i can do a decent job with everything. motherdaughterxwifeloverartistbusinesswomanvolunteerfriend. there's a lot to keep straight right now and find ing a balance doesn't come easily.

and, because time is limited, and i'd like these entries to be more art and lyrics than writing, today's injection of greatness:

Working the village shopPutting a poster upDreaming of anythingDreaming of the time when you are free from all the trouble you're inIn the mud, on your kneesTrying hard not to pleaseAnyone, all the timeBeing a rebel's fineBut you go all the way to being brutalYou will have a boy tonightYou will have a boy tonightOn the first bus out of townOn the first bus out of townLet's see your kit for gamesAll the girls look the sameYou are challenging style for running milesYou're running miles in some boys jumperBoo to the business world! You know a girl who's tax free on her back and makingPlenty cashWhile you are working for the joy of givingYou will have a boy tonightYou will have a boy tonightOn the first bus out of townOn the first bus out of townYou will have a boy tonightOr maybe you will have a girl tonightAnd you hope that she will seeAnd you hope that she will seeYou are in two mindsTossing a coin to decide whether you should tell your folksAbout a dose of thrush you got while you were licking railingsBut you read in a bookThat you got free in BootsThere are lotions, there are potionsYou can take to hide your shame from all those prying eyesLazy Jane, all the timePainting linesYou are sleeping at bus stopsWondering how you got your nameAnd what you're going to do about itYou will have a boy tonightYou will have a boy tonightAnd you hope that she will seeAnd you hope that she will see
